"Live the Charism"

C
harism Statement:

“Discipleship of Jesus and Mary in the Gospels,
on Ecclesial Teams of Priests, Consecrated Life and Lay Faithful
in Marian and Trinitarian Relationships,
in areas of Greatest Apostolic Need.”

Charism Foundation:

The word charism refers to God’s gift to the Church to begin a new work in the Church. The specific charism of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity for the Church today, is the gift of Ecclesial Teams.

The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity receives this gift of God from its Founder to maintain the existence of Our Lady’s Society. The Founder of any given religious society receives from God various gifts and a particular charism to found that Society in the Church. The Society of Consecrated Life receives from the Founder, additional gifts which serve to animate The Society.

The Holy Spirit’s presence and indwelling in The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity is life-giving. The Holy Spirit is the one who animates the charism of The Society. Likewise, the charism of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity is then the animating spirit of it. This charism gives the whole of The Society its identity, uniqueness and witnesses it as differing from other Societies of Consecrated Life in the Church.

The spirituality of a religious society proceeds from the charism, but it is more than the charism itself. With the proper integration of the Vision and the Charism, The Society of Consecrated Life comes to living its spirituality.

Charism Explanation:

  • Discipleship of Jesus and Mary in the Gospels refers first to Jesus: to living in oneness with Jesus in his Trinitarian Life and secondly in reference to Mary: as becoming like Jesus by imitating Mary as the first and best disciple of Jesus. Discipleship is a true calling and vocation. The spirituality of discipleship of Jesus and Mary come from the Gospels; its calling and the vocations of living this spirituality come from the Most Holy Trinity and serve as a model and way of life for the members of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity to respond to their call and vocation.
  • Ecclesial Teams of Priests, Consecrated Life and Lay Faithful refers first to the witness of the Ecclesial Team as Church. Secondly, it refers to the bringing forth of the greater fruitfulness of the gifts of God in the apostolic works.
  • Marian and Trinitarian Relationships refers to the God-Mary relationship of Mary’s relationship to the Trinity as Daughter of the Father, Mother of the Son and Spouse of the Holy Spirit as well as to the Trinitarian Communion as God exists within himself. Each member of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity is called to live the Communion of the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Marian and Trinitarian relationships serve as the living model for each member of The Society of Our Lady to come to this Communion.
