he Holy Spirit is the very soul of the Church. He led, moved and guided Jesus. Now He takes from all that is Jesus’ and gives it to the members of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity. Jesus witnesses this when He says, “The Spirit will teach all things, whatever I command him” (Cf. John 14:26 NAB) and again, “It is not what you do, it is the Spirit with which you do it.” Spirituality in The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity is the integration of the Vision and Charism; a living synthesis of our life experience as members of The Society in imitating Mary, becoming like Jesus and living the Communion of the Triune God. It forms the persons of The Society in faith from the Word of God. It is a gift of the Lord. The Holy Spirit develops each and all members of The Society of Our Lady into a mature and living faith in the full measure of the mature Christ. The truth of the Spirituality of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity is witnessed in the capacity of this spirituality to transform those who are living it. As Disciples, members become living signs of Jesus and Mary. They witness that Jesus has come and made all things new (Cf. Revelations 21:5 NAB). They witness that all callings and vocations in the Church are complimentary as Mary was complimentary to Jesus. Each member of The Society of Our Lady is to become a witness in their spiritual life as contemplative-active; to become like Jesus and Mary who were contemplative-active. In the universe in which we live, we see the presence of God and the alleged absence of God. For example, we see those who profess through modern philosophical studies that God does not exist. Their learning seems to bring them to the assertion of the “absence of God”. The key to the Spirituality of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, by living as Disciples of Jesus and Mary, is found in the Council of Vatican II. It is “Koinonia”, “Communio”. This Spirituality gifts each member of Our Lady’s Society with the fullness of the values of Christianity and brings all the members to live in Communion in Jesus Christ, as He is present to the Father, in the receptivity of the Holy Spirit. |
