There are many factors that have come into play to erode this dignity. It is a special task therefore of the religious brother to witness to those whom he serves; Christ their Brother who loves them, and has redeemed them. He ministers, not by preaching with words, but in the example of the great St Francis “Preach the gospel always, and use words when necessary”. The brother lives his life as a very witness of the scriptures and of Jesus himself as an “elder brother” to those whom he serves. A brother maybe involved in any type of ministry according to his gifts. It is there in this particular ministry that he is called to exude Christ’s presence. In the community, the religious brothers serve in many capacities, but their ministries is focused on the gifts that God has given the brother. With great love and joy the community discerns the brothers gifts and assigns him appropriately to where he is suited after formation. Currently, our brothers are assigned as a Sacristan and Parish Work, Hospitality, Administration and vocations work. AIDS Rehabilitation and Counseling; Prison Ministry amongst others. |
