Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This is to inform everybody that the family of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) in the American Region will be celebrating its Golden Anniversary this coming July 2008 in Corpus Christi, Texas. It will be a weeklong celebration to be participated in by the members, friends, benefactors and some bishops whom we are serving with.

The celebration of the Golden Foundation Anniversary will start on July 14 and will end on July 18. Within this week, we will be having:

  1. Talks from Bishops, Fr. Flanagan, Fr. John McHugh
  2. Ordinations which will be held at the Corpus Christi Cathedral on July 17, 2008 at 10am
  3. Perpetual Professions
  4. Consecrations
  5. Mission Exhibitions
  6. Cultural Presentations
  7. Tribute to Fr. Flanagan and Fr. John McHugh
  8. Open Forum to ask questions to Fr. Jim Flanagan and Fr. John McHugh.
  9. Historical Open House Exhibition. And so many others.
The launching of the SOLT Jubilee Year will also be held on July 16, 2008. The activities throughout the Jubilee year will coincide with the Universal Church's celebration of the of the Jubilee year of St. Paul the Apostle. There are several activities and events that every member, team and mission of Our Lady’s Society will join in and work together to celebrate with the whole Society of Our Lady. The Jubilee year will end on July 16, 2009.

Within the Jubilee Year, the Society of Our Lady will do the following activities:
  1. Schedule monthly Spiritual Exercises, which can be guided by the monthly published talk of Fr. James Flanagan, our founder, on the SOLT Web page (http://www.societyofourlady.net/).
  2. Liturgical and Community activities which would include the all-night vigils of Our Lady’s Society, a Jubilee of the Poor and the needy, Jubilee of the Priests, Sisters and Laity, Jubilee of the ecclesial teams, Fr. Flanagan’s birthday, ordination and so forth.
  3. Aside from these activities, we will also make some pilgrimages to Our Lady’s Shrines on her feast days, especially in the Region where we belong.
  4. We will also continue to do the evaluations of all the missions and apostolate to be able to be guided by its results in working and planning for the next 50 years of the Society of Our Lady.
  5. With Our Founder, Fr. James Flanagan and some SOLT priests, sisters and laity we will come together for a dinner to commemorate events, and in order to promote the work and mission of the Society of Our Lady in the different parts of the USA (the dates are still being worked out).
It is also but right that we praise the Most Holy Trinity, thanking Him for all the directions and graces He has given us over the past 50 years. In specific ways, we thank Him for the following gifts that He has given us:
  1. We will be having Mass and the Blessing of the New Theology House of Studies in Rome, Italy, on October 7, 2008.
  2. We will be gathered again for the Thanksgiving Mass and blessing of the first ever College Seminary of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity in Naga City, Philippines on May 31, 2009.
  3. Blessing of the New Convent of the sisters in Mora Valley, where the Society of Our Lady started (date to be announced).
  4. Blessing of the New Lay Formation House (date to be announced).
We will give more information regarding our Community’s celebrations after we have contacted all our SOLT teams and members.

Each member of the Society must be aware of the celebration taking place in every mission throughout the world, so that they will also be one with them, either in person or in spirit. If you plan on celebrating the Jubilee of Our Lady's Society on the founding date of your mission, we kindly ask the Team Leader to contact us as soon as possible, to communicate any information regarding the celebration, so we may publish it for the whole Society. You can contact us at soltjubilee@gmail.com.
