Haiti

Korbanal. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in all the Americas. Our Lady’s Mission in Haiti began in 1989 in service to the poor in the Diocese of Hinche in the town or Korbanal and the surrounding missions. Our Lady’s Ecclesial Team in Haiti has been blessed with many volunteers who come from the United States to assist them in nourishing God’s people through witnessing God’s word. The Ecclesial Teams gifts the families in the region in all their basic needs through spiritual and corporal assistance. The Team members have as their goal, the integral development of our Haitian brothers and sisters through leadership training. The dignity of each person is brought forth by these works of mercy.

In the region Korbanal, a whole new way of life has been established, whereby the entire community now thrives and serves each other in their needs. A new local economy has arisen through the work of the local people in the areas of agriculture, education, building, food distribution and other service oriented areas.

These efforts are centered on the growth and development of the children and local families themselves.
